Job Summary:
Mirus Bio is an established biotechnology company seeking a full-time Product Manager with excellent communication and writing skills to join our growing team based in Madison, Wisconsin. This Product Management role will be heavily focused on content marketing strategy for RUO and GMP transfection product lines and will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Support and Applications teams to communicate our product and brand story and ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager will report to the Director of Business Development and Marketing Strategy. This will be a new role at Mirus that will initially be centered around written technical content but that will grow and evolve over time. The mix of responsibilities below will fluctuate depending on the number of products in the pipeline and current business priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop materials and gather information necessary to aid the Marketing, Sales, Support and Applications teams in effectively selling products to new and existing customers
  • Generate compelling written and visual assets for campaigns that support marketing, branding, and positioning throughout the entire customer journey and that adheres to a strategic, holistic brand message
  • Draft copy for technical marketing pieces including, but not limited to whitepapers, application notes, advertorials, website content, email blasts, and social media
  • Articulate product value propositions and contribute to go-to-market plans
  • Create strategies for optimizing new and existing product positioning and promotional campaigns
  • Assist with video and audio content production
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of our products and applications in order to periodically represent the company through tradeshow attendance, customer interactions, oral presentations and webinars
  • Generate new ideas that grow market share and improve customer satisfaction
  • Participate in design of surveys, obtain feedback and organize VOC information
  • Assess competition and perform analyses to understand why we are winning and losing in the market and drive changes to our products and messaging to create improvement
  • Participate in search engine optimization and search engine marketing initiatives, driving traffic for created and curated content

Requirements:

  • Highly driven, proactive individual with a strong motivation to succeed and drive business growth
  • Prolific scientific writer with excellent verbal, listening and presentation skills and previous experience giving technical oral and/or poster presentations to other scientists
  • Effective in project management, problem-solving, organization and acting with little direction
    Comfortable with setting and meeting deadlines both independently and in a cross-functional team setting
  • Bachelor’s degree (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) in a life sciences-related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of life science research/lab experience
  • Firm understanding of molecular biology, cell biology and related fields and ability to clearly communicate complex technical information
  • Approachable, friendly personality and ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to travel independently up to 25%, including overnight travel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), e-mail and the use of the Internet
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to drive a vehicle; Must have current and valid U.S. driver license
  • Ability to use computer and telephone equipment
  • Experience with transfection, electroporation and viral transduction workflows is preferred
  • Product management, technical support or B2B technology marketing experience in a life sciences company is highly desirable
