Simple and sensitive miRNA labeling in less than two hours

MADISON, Wis., December 19, 2005 - Mirus Bio Corporation announces a break-through approach to miRNA analysis; the Label IT® miRNA Labeling Kit. This kit provides state-of-the-art sensitivity in a rapid one-step reaction format based on Mirus’ proprietary direct alkylation chemistry. The simple kit protocol can be completed in only two hours yielding miRNA samples labeled with Cy™ 3 and Cy™ 5 dyes ready for analysis using popular microarray formats.

The study of miRNA regulation is one of the fastest growing areas of life science research. Scientists need faster and more powerful tools to facilitate their studies. The Label IT® technology will enable scientists to do miRNA microarray studies the same day, versus two days required for other methodologies,” explains Richard Schifreen, Ph.D. vice president of the research products division. Furthermore, “the method offers unequaled sensitivity and avoids the need to add additional bases inherent with enzymatic labeling methods” adds Jim Hagstrom, Ph.D. co-founder and vice president of scientific operations.
